PROGRAMMATIC PROPOSALS
Programmatic proposal are now being accepted according to the following criteria:
- Programmatic proposals are similar to regular proposals, except they require a more extensive “scientific background” portion of the proposal that justifies access for two years. They are clearly marked “Programmatic Proposal”. The number of days requested will be those needed for the next cycle only.
- The Program Advisory Committee (PAC) evaluates the proposal once upon arrival and assigns a numeric rating (NR) as for other proposals.
- If the proposal makes the cut for the 1st cycle, the number of days assigned is taken from both normally allocated time and Instrument Scientist (IS) discretionary time at the discretion of the IS.
- For the following 3 cycles the Scientific Assistant (SA) and IS will communicate with the (Primary Investigator) PI to assign days based on needs and the original NR according to the arrangement above assuming the program is scientifically productive. The PAC will not re-evaluate the proposal.
- Renewals will be considered after 2 years and will require PAC review.
